Northrop Grumman Ship Systems Full Service Operations

Northrop Grumman Ship Systems Full Service Operations (NGSS FSO) is a business unit of Northrop Grumman Ship Systems. NGSS-FSO is headquartered in Pascagoula, Mississippi adjacent to its parent shipyard now also a part of Northrop Grumman. NGSS-FSO actually began operation as an element of Ingalls Shipbuilding in 1980 when Ingalls was awarded the DD963 Planning Yard Contract. The planning effort grew steadily through the years as Ingalls' scope expanded to keep pace with the class modernization plan. CG47 Class planning was added in 1990 bringing a total of sixty-three ships under Ingalls planning activity. Recognizing the trend toward full-service contracting NGSS-FSO was set apart to pursue this wider range in 2000. Thus the NGSS-FSO at work today actually traces its team lineage for over twenty years back to its roots on the 963 Class. Today NGSS-FSO is integrally linked to the Northrop Grumman Shipyards (formerly Ingalls and Avondale) providing all logistics support activity, design support and post delivery planning for these major Northrop Grumman assets. NGSS-FSO has over 700 employees, and an annual payroll above $20 million.
