INGALLS TO REPAIR SECOND DOLPHIN JACKUP RIG

April 30, 1998 -- Ingalls has signed a contract to repair the jackup drilling rig Dolphin 105 for Sundowner Offshore Services, of Houston, Texas. The repair work will be similar to the work accomplished here last year on the Dolphin 110 for Sundowner Offshore.

Ingalls placed the Dolphin 105 in drydock, then brought it back on-land via Ingalls’ floating drydock and wheel-on-rail translation system. Once on land, Ingalls will replace the rig's jacking gears and perform additional work on the four 180-foot column legs. By bringing the rig ashore, Ingalls was able to more efficiently perform horizontal welding and repair.

The repair work is scheduled to be complete by July 3.
